A two-day Face-to-Face training workshop was held as a co-located event with APAN 55 in Kathmandu, Nepal. This is the second planned activity of an Asi@Connect’s iFIRExMAN project awarded to us after the inaugural activity was successfully conducted along side APNIC 54, Singapore last year in 2022. The workshop was attended by participants from Thailand, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Laos, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, while the trainers came from Malaysia (SIFULAN) and Australia (AAF and Independent). The workshop agenda was aimed to further enhance previously touched topics such as identity federation core services, Shibboleth IdPaaS infrastructure, eduroam IdPaaS set-up, and OpenRoaming. The workshop also invited two eminent speakers from SWAMID/SUNET, Sweden who shared insights about identity federation globally to inspire the participants to work hard to establish their own national federation and join eduGAIN. This event was made possible through the sponsorship of the Asi@Connect Grant Contract ACA 2016/376-562.
