Objective

IAMready – an Identity & Access Management & Roaming Competition supporting hack-a-thon & deploy-a-thon events.

Description

The IAMready Programme will create an Identity & Access Management and Roaming Grand Challenge Competition that provide incentives for the wider Asi@Connect community to participate in federating local and open source applications. Infrastructure to support the competition will allow the wider community to participate. Two rounds of “awards” will be made during 2022 to highlight a range of activities that benefit the community including:

    1. Most active poster.
    2. Most active at answering.
    3. Best tutorial provider.
    4. Best software integration.
    5. Greatest improvement to eduroam/Federated Identity deployment.

These categories will also be duplicated to encourage participation from female engineers. We will strongly encourage project partners/members to nominate/include at least one female engineer as their representative in this project. A range of prizes (t-shirts, stickers, 2FA tokens and conference attendance) will be available. The competition will be overseen by a committee to ensure that submissions add value to the community (such as IDN support for non-ASCII email addresses, domain names, login attributes + eduroam usernames – e.g. https://uasg.tech/ and the improved availability of modern web frameworks).
